DFI - 2009 Executive Officer and Director Compensation Survey Forms

Dear Chief Executive:

Attached are forms for the 32nd Annual Executive Officer and Director Compensation Survey as of June 30, 2009. In the 2008 survey, 139 out of 287 banks or 48.4% participated, down slightly from the 50.4% rate in 2007.

Your participation is entirely voluntary. Information regarding individuals will be kept confidential and will not be made available to any other participant or outside party. Please return the completed forms to Annie Constantino at the Department of Financial Institutions, 45 Fremont Street, #1700, San Francisco, CA 94105-2219 by Friday, August 14, 2009.

State banks: In the bank number field, please enter your state bank number which you will find here http://www.dfi.ca.gov/directory/db.asp (commercial banks) or here: http://www.dfi.ca.gov/directory/ib.asp (industrial banks).

National banks: please enter your FDIC Cert # in this field.

The information that we collect will be compiled into a summary report that will be mailed without charge to participants on or about October 31, 2009. For an example of what you will receive, please refer to the survey results from past years, which are available on the DFI Web site at http://www.dfi.ca.gov/publications/executive_summaries/default.html.
