FDIC / FRB Joint Invitation to "Be Prepared: Sound Liquidity Risk Management"
You are invited to a joint FRB San Francisco and FDIC Audio Conference!
BE PREPARED: Sound Liquidity Risk Management in a Challenging Environment -- ROUND II
Thursday, October 30, 2:00 - 4:00 pm Pacific Time
The Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) encourages licensees to join Senior Examiner David Erigero of FRB San Francisco, and Senior Examiner Bonn Phillips of the FDIC in a no-charge conference call. They will share their views on the challenging liquidity environment, highlight sound practices for enhanced liquidity management, and discuss regulatory guidance, including the FDIC's Financial Institution letter issued in August 2008. They will also consider recent events and the implications for liquidity practices, focusing on the use of scenario analysis and stress testing, contingency funding plans, and PCA restrictions on brokered deposits and the FDIC waiver process. Our third speaker will be Rick Miller, Discount Officer and Director of Credit and Risk Management, who will discuss pragmatic steps bankers can take to prepare for collateralized borrowing from the Fed's Discount Window.
The session is geared primarily toward CFOs, Treasurers, funding managers, and senior federal and state bank examiners.
