Call Report Testing – Last Call for Testers
This follows our email last week. Attached you will find the call report (an Excel spreadsheet) and the call report instructions (Word). As part of the final phase of testing, we ask each of you to read the call report instructions and then input data from a prior quarterly report into the attached call report form. The data can be from any previous quarterly report submitted to DFI in the last year. This round of testing will conclude on June 4, 2008. Those companies that have already conducted a test are welcome to test the form again and provide feedback. We ask that you also answer the following questions:
- How long did it take to complete the call report?
- How easy or difficult was it to complete and understand?
- Do you have any other suggestions, questions or comments?
Please email the competed call report and any feedback by email to the following email address: mtcr@dfi.ca.gov.
We hope that each of you can participate in this test. Please block out time right now on your calendars to complete the call report sometime before June 4, 2008.
Background
The California Department of Financial Institutions is in the process of testing an electronic quarterly call report which we have been developing for the past year. We intend to issue an order requiring all of our licensees to submit this form in lieu of the hard copy quarterly reports that are currently submitted. Our current plan is to require the call report for second quarter financials, which are due on August 15, 2008.
We have conducted two rounds of testing with about 20 of our licensees, and based on the feedback we've received, we have revised the call report. We would like to include additional licensees in the testing process before we go live with the program.
