DFI Warning Notice - Fraudulent Subpoena

An officer at a DFI licensee has alerted us to a "phishing" email that purports to be a subpoena issued by "O'Mevely & Meyers" to the recipient ordering him or her to appear in the United States Courthouse, 880 Front Street, San Diego on May 7, 2008 The email bears the Great Seal of the United States and the legend "United States District Court". It lists the users name and contact information, and has a link that instructs him or her to click on it to download a document.

This email is a hoax. It has no connection to the actual law firm of O'Melveny & Myers in Los Angeles. If you should receive this phishing attempt, please DO NOT click on the link; instead, forward the email to the United States Computer Emergency Response Team (US CERT) at the Department of Homeland Security.
