"Elder abuse is one of the fastest growing crimes in the country today." -- California Attorney General, Bill Lockyer

Experts say that elder financial abuse is the "crime of the 21st century." Tragically, it is estimated 225,000 seniors are financially abused in California and as many as 8.5 million each year -- or nearly 24,000 per day -- nationally. And the crime is growing.

Elder Financial Protection Network, an award-winning non-profit organization, is presenting a conference for financial institution employees and legal professionals entitled "Confronting Elder Financial Abuse." The conference, which features many prominent elder abuse prevention experts and a keynote address by California Attorney General, Bill Lockyer, will educate attendees about the growing crime of elder financial abuse. Opening remarks will be provided by Los Angeles County District Attorney, Steve Cooley.
